Though invented and typically known as an American professional sport, basketball has grown across the world. The sport has long since been organized into the International Basketball Federation – which includes 212 national federations under its ranks.

While many international teams have home grown domestic players – many athletes have also traveled abroad to play in various countries to compete with the best teams in the world.

Vindicated focuses on both male and female American professional basketball players who have made the journey abroad to live and compete within the world of international basketball. Production has taken place across numerous countries including Turkey, Slovakia, Lebanon, Iraq, and more.

The series will take an uncompromising look at the challenges of playing overseas and the personal stories that have led these professional players into the international basketball market. It will also explore how basketball differs in various international nations compared to the NBA.

Vindicated will also examine how the current political tensions across the globe affect players and federations within international basketball – including the ongoing conflicts within the middle east.
